Basketball social game
Feel free to join Kenny, Bryan, YP etc etc and I at Angkasa basketball court from 5pm onwards this Friday (2/5/08) for a basketball game... This is your chance to get sweaty and of course I hope more girls will join us la.. Ah O not here already, I dunno who else will join lo... if not I will be very kesian leh... anyway come over whenever you can before 7pm and we shall see you guys there!!!

Time: 4pm-6pm (gather around 3.15pm near ucsi guard house)
Visit to: WAKE House 1 (children)
Transportation: to be arranged (depends on the numbers of drivers and passengers :)
Please confirm with me bobo (016 222 0109) ASAP before Saturday so that I can arrange transportation for you guys. This time we're only playing with the kids. So you can have all the fun with the kids!! (those who went before know how adorable the kids are...) TQ!

Announcement
Hey peeps. Real sorry for the delay. I am so so so tied up these days that i really forgot to send the minutes of the meeting. Attached in the e-mail and i shut down the computer already... I just realized it today (how many days late already!!)
Okay.. I will e-mail all of you soon. But then again.. Who is going for the Recruitment Drive on this Wednesday?
We need as many members as possible. And please wear the SSLA t-shirt yeah.
Those who are not in KL... Be prepared for more action in the coming semester... Hahaa...
And for others who are available on the 30th, please volunteer your time to make SSLA work!!

Big thanks to those who made the trip such a memorable one...
I believe each and everyone had their own fun time in Redang and many of us will be missing it. We will be missing tonnes of jokes from most of the jokers in SSLA- u know who u are (Nick, we should be recording all the SSLA jokes and produce a book someday...), we will be missing the fake shark and the real sharksss, the beautiful sand and sea in Redang, the activities (snorkelling, swimming, kayaking- it was really really fun, u guys should try it next time, playing beach volley ball- too bad I didn't get to play beach football :(, building sand mermaid and turtle, sand ball war- got franchise in making sand ball in Redang, singing k- my pa can sing man! and lots more crazy and really really tiring activities...) and many more.
But let's not be disappointed, we will definitely have more outings and gathering like this.. But we should give a round of applause to those who made this trip a memorable one especially to both organizers- Yang and Steph.. Without their well planned schedule and everything, this trip wouldn't be so well organized and we need not worry a single thing. Honestly this trip made me so relax that I lost the sense of reality, I even forgotten that I am from KL.. I thought I'd already belong to the sea.. So once again, thank you Yang and Steph and to all who made it to this trip :) Rest well everyone and I shall continue getting roasted LOL!

Redang Trip

We really caught a LIVE mermaid and a turtle laying eggs beside her!! Shark looks like he is trying to poach the turtle eggs to be sold in the market. Hahaha.....
darn.. my toes look cacat under water.. But its how clear the water in Redang (proof of purchase man...... RM340 flew to Redang already) but it was worth the cash!!

Meeting
Okay people..
I love this Last Minute annoucement. To check and see whether you all PEKA or PEKAK lah. For those who saw this msg, good. For those who didn't see, wah kao... Ok lah. I will email to ALL the e-mails that I have then...
Anyway, we are having a meeting on this Sunday (20th Apr 08) and for those who are in KL and who is likely to be free and totally interested in developing and bringing SSLAA to greater heights, Listen UP cuz, there are many things to be addressed on Sunday.
Venue: Angkasa Condominium, at unit A-03-08
Time: 5pm SHARP
No Malaysian timing. Doors would be opened to 'public' anytime after 4pm so you all can come over and hang out.
Things to be addressed during the meeting:
1) Finalization of the BOD (Board of Directors, a.k.a committee members)
2) Finalization of positions to be added/modified for the coming Nomination and Election
3) Games and activities to be planned for SSLAA members (e.g. the 'proposed' Dodgeball where we make our own rules, or Badminton weekend, Basketball tournaments etc)
4) Community Service - to enrich the lives of SSLAA members
5) Web activities - videos, podcasts, blog updates to be frequent, highlight past events, pictures (creativity of members would be stretched to the max)
6) Education in Action - linking SSLAA activities to self development and self enrichment of the members
7) SSLAA's Mission and Vision Statements
8) Other issues/activities to be addressed
Basically, we only have about 2 hours to address all these issues and NOT every one of our members are from Angkasa Condo. Time has to be given for them to pack their clothes and make their way down to Angkasa Condo and those people who are going to Redang needs time to go for their dinner and get ready to take the bus to Terengganu, so we all have a responsibility to make sure that we all are early and finish our meeting at the stipulated time..
Can we get our IWW Project Co-ordinator as our timekeeper as well?
Also, anyone is willing to be our Secretary for this meeting? (Bobo, have to pinjam your PA already la)
Your attendance is deeply appreciated. For those who cannot attend, please send an e-mail to ucsi.ssla@gmail.com and notify us of your absence so that we can forward the minutes of the meeting to you.
Thank you for your co-operation and keen interest in propelling SSLA towards success. Without any one of you, the journey to creating THE SSLAA Experience would not be there. There is no university experience if we all don't do something about it. So, if you want the experience of having great memories while in the University, this is the time to act!

Nomination
Hey people...
In view of the recent event that just ended with a big bang, which is none other than the International Women's Week 08 charity event that SSLAA organized, I would like to once again take the opportunity to thank everyone who was there to go through the entire process of planning, preparing and executing the event itself.
Words are only words when not implemented and put into action. Therefore, to those who really contributed a lot to the Association, thank you for being part of SSLAA and although we cannot promise to reimburse you or to pay you monthly salary for being part of us, but we can guarantee one thing, you would gain more experiences through continuing being a part of the Association...
Before we go on to more important things, lets just thank one person... The one and only one person who could make a table of 20 people laugh uncontrollably whenever he cracks stupid, lame or meaningful jokes. he is...
Mr. Nick Lim Kah Ken
Not only was he our President, our Association's 'bapa ayam', badminton coach to our badminton players as well as our 'resident joker' for the meetings which always dragged for hours on end with members laughing non-stop, he is also someone that the SSLA Association should thank, because, without him, SSLAA would have been really boring...
Thanks, Nick for being the ever 'fei' and funny SSLAA President for as long as you held your position. And WHY did you suddenly leave lah... (damn u..)
But then again, Nick has his own reasons for stepping down and now, its just the rest of us in the Association who is going to run this entire Association by our own. Are we ready for this?
I guess you all are...
And that is why, we are going to have a NOMINATION week, where every member nominates whoever he/she thinks is suitable to be the A's, B's and C's of the Association...
Every position is going to be emptied for all of you to cast your vote and to nominate the right people to handle the jobs.
But for those who wishes to step down and not reassume any more positions in SSLAA, they would be excluded but you have to inform us first before the nomination period.
And, the best part is this.....
We have our 'old' committee members who are also requesting to change their positions to another one. So, allocations would be made for these people too..
BUT then again... this Nomination is not ALL about those old, fuzzy duddy members who held posts in the last committee member's line up. This NOMINATION is a brand new one, where everyone is responsible for re-electing their own members into the Committee...
Remember, each and everyone of you would be responsible for your vote. Whether the person you nominate could carry on their job well or not, this is all up to you to judge.
Do check the blogsite again once more, soon, for more updates on the Nomination. And i guess, some of us (the old members, eh?) saw some talents in a few SSLAA members. So, just pray that these people do not bully you when you're finally elected. Just joking....

Nando's outing
Our lovely Nando's outing come appreciation dinner...There are lots of ugly pictures hope no one minds...cause SSLAA people are that ugly one and we don't care!!!There are a few non-SSLAA members who joined us for the dinner too but i do think they will become one of us very soon right? Enjoy the pictures then..if u want more of these ugly pics, call 016 222 0109 for more pics and prepare some money to get them wahahahaha...
